Our Process
Step 1. Discovery
We ask a lot of questions about your business.
- What are your business and website goals?
- What do your website visitors like or expect from your site?
- Are there websites that we should see, that will help us better understand what you're looking to do? Competitor sites? Sites that have features you'd like included?
- Do you have search engine optimization goals and expectations?
We'll also ask if you have your content created, or at least outlined. If not, that's okay, but we'll need at least the basics of your homepage content which will help us design and layout your site. We'll also need any images you'd like included, including your logo, if you have one. If you don't have a logo, we can design a simple type logo to use on your site.
Step 2. Design and Revisions
Next, we'll create design concepts for your review. We'll agree on the number of concepts/revisions you'd like before we begin so everyone has clear expectations. For most projects, our initial discussions will give us a clear concept direction up front, which minimizes revisions and unexpected results later on.
Step 3: Coding and Development
Now we'll build your test site, creating the initial pages. We'll provide you login access so you can start putting in your content, if your site is created in Wordpress or another content management system. Once your content is entered, you can ask for any tweaks needed, since there may be minor adjustments needed to ensure things look great.
Step 4: Launch
Once your site is completed, we'll launch it and test it to make sure everything is working properly. We'll provide support long after your site is complete.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost?
Custom designed sites typically start at $2000.
What payment is required to start?
We ask for a 1/3 deposit to get started.
Second payment is due when site is about 2/3 complete. Final payment is due on completion prior to launch.
How long does it take to complete?
This varies for each project, but usually from 2-8 weeks.
Are there any other costs involved?
Extra concepts or revisions beyond the number agreed upon may increase cost. If you want special web page functionality, customization or features beyond the scope of our agreement, then that could be an additional cost. For most projects this isn't the case.
Do I need to have a logo?
No. If you don't have a logo, we can design a simple type logo to use on your site.
Will I be able to update my site myself?
Yes, if that is what is needed, and what we agree on. Most sites are built using Wordpress, and if that's the case, you can update the site yourself.
How do I get started?
Visit our request quote page. We'll review your request and get the ball rolling.
What about web hosting?
Hosting costs $15-20 per month for most websites.
What about a domain name?
If you don't have a domain yet, we recommend that you purchase your domain name from a domain registrar. We can help you with this if needed.
What if I need a Mobile version of my site?
We have two options. The first option is to build your site to display reponsively, which means the
site displays optimally on the viewing device, whether it's a smart phone, iPad, or desktop. (This site is a responsive web design,
and should be easy to view and use on most devices). The second option is to create a separate site that will be displayed when viewed on a mobile device.
