Domain Registration Notice ScamOne of our clients recently received a notice/bill from Domain USA to renew their domain name registration. They make it appear that you must register with them, but DomainUSA has nothing to do with your domain name. The notice is an attempt to fraudulently receive payment under the pretense of servicing your domain registration. Do not send any money. What's hurting my website?I wish I had a dime every time I heard, "I already have a website. It doesn't do anything for me", I just might be sitting on a beach enjoying my wealth. Just having a website isn't usually enough. A website needs to be a quality web experience. Here are some of the reasons for an ineffective website that we've seen the most: Poor design! A poorly designed site could be hurting you without you even knowing it. When the site looks unprofessional, the initial impression your customer or potential customer has about your business can be damaged. A website doesn’t have to be expensive or break the bank. But just like any other important part of you business, your website should be developed with careful thought and strategy. Bad Content can hurt credibility. Website content should provide information that lets visitors know what you can do for them. Not that you shouldn't let them know about you and your expertise, it shouldn't focus too much on your achievements. It should however demonstrate the services you can provide and show the continued positive experience your business can provide. Difficult or Vague Navigation can frustrate visitors. Website navigation should clearly tell visitors where they can go as well as where they are. You may know how to get around your site, but does a visitor? Navigation should be consistent across the site so visitors can easily reach main sections of your site should they get lost or confused. All site information should be found easily or you risk losing potential customers. The Internet is a great way of getting information faster and easier. We have often heard, "Have you been to this site?" or "Have you checked out that site?" and our answer is often 'No'. Why? Because as of early 2007 the Internet reached a new high – over 108 million websites. And that number is growing every day with many of those sites regularly updating and redesigning their websites so they can compete and strive for number one.
